East Kansas Chemical has worked hard over the last couple months trying to better position ourselves with manufacturing and distribution channels in order to have the best herbicide/pesticide prices available for you. December and January are the best times to buy chemicals. Many of our customers decide during these two months what programs they will implement for the following crop year and "pre-pay" for their herbicides. This ensures them they will get the best price on those herbicide/pesticides. Call your EKC dealer and talk to an angronomist to figure out what programs you want to run on your crop fields.
Seed Products
East Kansas Chemical is a dealer of DeKalb corn seed and Asgrow soybean seed. We are also a dealer of Taylor Seed Farms, a private independent seed company. East Kansas Chemical is a dealer of multiple seed companies to better serve our customers with more seed options being available.
East Kansas Chemical carries Asgrow soybean seed in a true bulk system. The advantage of bulk seed for you, the customer, is that East Kansas Chemical has the capabilities to quickly deliver the bulk seed directly to your farm or field within a 100 mile radius of Wellsville. Bulk seed eliminates the use of handling bags and allows you to use your time more efficiently. Our state of the art facility is equipped with a seed treater. This gives you the option to treat any bean with an insecticide and/or fungicide which improves plant health and is proven to consistently deliver higher yields.
East Kansas Chemical has trained agronomist that are readily available to answer and assist you with purchasing the right seed for the right acre.
Early cash discounts are available for purchases of Asgrow/DeKalb seed. They are as follows:
10% October 15
8% November 15
6% December 15
5% January 15

In 1996 East Kansas Chemical opened their second location at Kingsdown, Kansas. Kingsdown is located 25 miles southeast of Dodge City, Kansas, on Highway 54. The first year we opened up with four bulk tanks, two employees, and one delivery truck. Seed was added to our product line in 2000. We opened the 2006 chemical and seed season with a brand new bulk/warehouse facility. It is a fully contained bulk warehouse with twenty-six bulk tanks. We can actually warehouse over 100,000 gallons of bulk herbicide under one roof! We obviously owe this growth to a very large group of loyal growers.
We offer an on the farm delivery service that we believe is second to none. You can always be assured product support from the major manufacturers due to our strong relationships we have obtained through the years. Over the years, we have put together a group of employees that provide you with the services you deserve as loyal supporters of East Kansas Chemical.
